Privacy
LingoNeko counts visits and a few learning steps so it can be improved. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device for this. It never asks who you are.

Visits
Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It records which page was opened and which site sent you there. It also records your country, your browser and device type, and how fast the page loaded.
Cloudflare states that this uses no cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. It keeps the detailed data for seven days and a summary after that.
Learning counters
A few counters come from the lessons and the Word Game. They show where lessons are too hard or too long and whether the Word Game picks words at the right level. They are sent to LingoNeko's own counter service, which keeps them for three months.
When a lesson is opened, finished or left, the counter receives the language and the lesson's code. For a lesson that was left it also receives the step where that happened.
For first-time Word Game questions it receives the language, the level (A1, A2, B1, B2 or C) and the kind of question. The kinds are a placement question, a question asked before the word card, and a question asked after it. It also receives how many were answered, in groups of ten, and how many of those were right.
What is never collected
Your answers, anything you type, your saved words, your progress and your account are never sent to these counters. They carry no identifier, so one visit cannot be linked to another. The counter service does not read or store your IP address.
Signing in is separate. If you sign in, your progress is saved to your account so that it can follow you between devices. That is not part of the counting described here.
Why you are not asked
Because this does not use cookies or store anything on your device, and nothing identifies you, no consent is requested.
Turning it off
Both the visit count and the learning counters are skipped when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. A content blocker stops them as well. LingoNeko works the same either way.
